NOTICE OF COUNCIL MEETING DATE CHANGE
THE COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR MAY 21, 2013 HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MAY 14, 2013 DUE TO COUNCIL MEMBERS ATTENDING THE ALABAMA LEAGUE OF MUNICIPALITY CONVENTION.
Memorial Day Event
The City of Satsuma will hold their Memorial Day Event on Friday, May 24 th at 9:00 a.m. on the lawn of City Hall. The guest speaker will be Retired Staff Sergeant Garland Mason. Light refreshments will be served at Annex gym. If you have any questions, please call Edith Butler 675-1440.

Plaques for D.C. Baldwin Square
may be reserved by filling out this form
- Plaques will be of white marble, approximately 18” X 6”
- Plaques will be set into concrete slabs approximately 4’X4’ and will become a permanent part of the square.
- Cost of the plaque, concrete, 12 letters of engraving and blacking of letters is $125.00
- Additional letters may be purchased at the cost of $1.50 per letter.
- Reservations for plaques will be on a first come, first serve basis and those purchasing earliest will be given the opportunity to select the location their plaque will be placed.
- Plaques must be paid in full at time of reservation.

The city and city officials have received numerous complaints regarding the removal of the crepe myrtles in the medium on Highway 43. On December 31, 2012, the city received a letter from ALDOT requesting that all vegetation (i.e., trees, shrub clusters, etc.) along the state routes which exceed four inches in trunk diameter be removed and/or replaced. (See attached). The city opposed this, but had no choice but to stay within the law. Please feel free to contact Charly Jones, District One Manager, at ALDOT to express any complaints or concerns.
