Satsuma City Hall has recently added a recycling receptacle in the back parking lot. The recycling receptacle is open to the public, and is for paper products only. If your business or household would like to start recycling, please contact Eva Rowe at City Hall at 675-1440 or email her. We would appreciate everyone's help in making our city "a little greener."

City Accepts New Garbage Contract
Recently the City bid out the garbage service to begin January 2008. After reviewing all the bids, Allied Waste Services was awarded the 2008 garbage contract. Allied Waste started picking up January 3, 2008. One of the changes to the schedule is that trash/rubbish will be picked up twice a month instead of every week.
Effective with the February 2008 water bill, the garbage rate will increase to $18.50.
Garbage Service Procedures:
• Carts need to be placed curbside by 7:00am on scheduled garbage days
• Contents of Allied Waste only
• Handles & cart wheels facing the house
• All waste must be in the cart for collection
• Do not stack anything on top or cart
• Loose trash bags, regular garbage containers cannot be served
• Cart must be 3 feet from curb or edge of street
• Cart must have 5 feet clearance on all sides
• Keep away from mailboxes, poles, trees, etc.
• To prevent littering, bag all contents of cart
• No oil, gas, paint, or hazardous material in cart
